Low Tide

When a body of water, such as an ocean, sea, or tidal river, has its lowest water level during the tidal cycle, it is said to be at low tide. When the tide is low, more of the shoreline is exposed as well as areas of the seabed or ocean floor that are normally covered by water when the tide is high. The moon and sun's gravitational pull on the waters of the Earth are the main culprits for this regular variation in water level.
